My grandmothers can be credited as being the major influential factors for my exploration of my own creativeness. They were always involved in the Craft world in some form or another. My inspirations transpired from watching them experiment with different mediums and form the meaningless pieces into works of art. My own explorations and inventions were encouraged by both, and, in turn, strengthened my creativeness. Following in their footsteps, I began to explore many different types of mediums and it has been through my own curiosity and learning that I have become the creative person I am today.
Genealogy is another field of exploration that has fascinated me. My grandmothers always had a special place to keep letters, certificates, documents, and pictures for recording many special events. I remember looking through photo albums always wondering, who the people were, what were they doing, and what kind of lives they lead. I realized by looking through my pictures, cards, and memorabilia that the history behind the picture is just as important as the attempt to preserve it.
Recognizing this was the encouragement needed to begin creating scrapbooks. Scrapbooks brought new challenges, which stimulated and energized my creative skills and talents in a whole new way! Memory Preservation has become not only a passion, but also a staple part of my life. I realized scrapbooks as an important means to preserve memories, and with a little time, organization and recording of events, important recording of family history is preserved for a lifetime.
Being able to experiment with new ideas and designs has always been challenging and rewarding, whether it had been through making Crafts or with my most recent exploration of creating Custom-made Scrapbooks. Experimenting with these inspirations through Crafts and Scrapbooks always brings a personal satisfaction, stimulates my creative drive, and is an innovative means for accepting new challenges. Catering to the personal aesthetic needs by creating unique hand-made items for clients or offering my services to emphasize the importance of preserving memories so family history can be passed down from generation to generation brings me great satisfaction and pleasure!
